I am sure by now each of us has been impacted by the horrific news involving some Priests and Bishops…this is a pivotal time in our Church and now more than ever we as Knights of Columbus, need to take a leadership role and become a visible arm of the Church…”Now is the time for all our brother Knights to stand steadfast in faith, as Catholics, and as gentleman…to be part of a great renewal for the good in our Church.”
The vine is in terrible shape and in need of extensive pruning we need to hold people accountable, and judgment rendered and systems fixes, policies put into place to ensure this does not continue or get brushed under the mat. However, we also need to support the Church that Jesus Christ founded; we lose both ways in allowing 1. criminal sexual misconduct to continue and go unreported and unpunished; 2.allowing Satan and evil acts to turn our fellow Parishioners away from our Faith.
We as your Officers feel that it is essential as with any severe injury to clean and cut out the infection, shine a light on the situation, treat the wounded and put accountability in place. To that end we encourage all our Brothers to attend next weeks meetings; Council meeting has been moved up and condensed down so that can spend time understanding the situation, looking at what needs to be done and our duty moving forward.
Below is the agenda and schedule for the September 10th meeting:
- Assembly meeting 6:00 pm – 6:20 pm
- Council meeting 6:20 pm – 7:00 pm
